Qualifications and Contract

Honors Program Qualifications

Students entering from high school determine eligibility for admission to an Honors option in a regular course, as well as for an Honors course, if they meet ONE of the following criteria:

  • Attain assessment score of 276 or better on the Accuplacer test, which indicates eligibility for Honors English Composition I
  • Achieve a combined SAT score of 1200
  • Provide high school transcript to verify high school GPA of 2.7 or higher.
  • Test into English Composition I and provide an Honors recommendation from a high school faculty member or guidance counselor.

Currently enrolled students and transfer students qualify when they meet the following criteria:

  • A grade point average of 3.2 or better

Students who enroll after an interruption in their schooling may qualify for the Honors Program based on ONE of the following criteria:

  • Achieve a combined SAT score of 1200
  • Students taking the Fresh Start option may qualify by attaining an assessment score of 276 or better on the Accuplacer test, which indicates eligibility for Honors English Composition
